However, action webtoons are incredibly diverse, ranging from mind-bending sci-fis to exciting fantasy romps, making it difficult to know where to start. That’s why we compiled a list of the comics we think are the best action webtoons of all time. So without further ado, let’s get into it!

Kim Dokja’s life is pretty boring, and the only thing that he enjoys about interning at a dull office is that it gives him time to read his favourite web novel: Three Ways to Survive An Apocalypse. But on the day his internship ends, the novel ends too… and the apocalypse begins in Kim’s world, retracing all the events from his favourite book.
Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint ranks among the best webtoons out there because Kim already knows the end of his story, which means he can try to change it. This results in a story that is pacey and exciting, and definitely not one to miss!

My S-Class Hunters

When a routine dungeon raid claims the life of his brother, Yoojin uses his victory wish to reset the timeline, restoring his brother’s life. Although at first he’s determined to live peacefully from now on, Yoojin realises that his prescience — a virtue of having lived this timeline already — can help other adventurers become the best they can be…
This comic plays with the fantasy-action genre, with a genre-aware protagonist who is determined to evade the tragedies he’s experienced from happening again. This is a really fresh take, and results in very clever writing, along with a plot firmly focused on the value of each character. It may not be as well known as others on this list, but its interesting premise makes it one of the best action webtoons out there.

Weak Hero

In a school run by bullies, the new kid is going to fight back… even though he’s small and physically weak. Gray might not be the biggest kid, or even the strongest, but his shrewd strategy and incredible fighting style have even the baddest of bullies running away crying.
I really enjoy this one for its setting. When it comes to webtoons, high school-set stories are predominantly cute slices of life or romances, with a few magical girl plots here and there. Weak Hero is very much an action webtoon, with hardcore characters and elaborate fight sequences set… in a normal high school. It’s basically a 90s street gang shonen manga, but the characters are all teenagers. It’s so funny and bonkers, while also being fantastically well written and well illustrated. Just read it. Thank me later.

Ordeal

This mission leads him to the very heart of what gives the superpowered Kimyos their power, and as he gets closer to the truth of his mentor’s death, he’ll discover that he might just be the most powerful Kimyo of all time…
With a diverse cast and incredible worldbuilding, Ordeal isn’t just an action webtoon: it’s an experience. The cinematic fight scenes really make this a must-read, and it would be impossible to make a best action webtoon list without including Ordeal.

Light Within Shadow

Lysandra’s life is pretty great. She lives in a peaceful town, protected from the monster-infested woods by a team of Varans, fighters who wield the power of the elements against their foes. Except, something still plagues Lysandra. Her childhood memories are gone, and her quest to regain them pits her against dark gods, plunging her friends into more peril than she could have ever dreamed possible…
This is one of my all time favourite action webtoons, and I’m so mad it hasn’t got more views. The illustrations are absolutely stunning (the use of light! the colours!!), each action sequence is paced fantastically and pushes along the story, the visual gags are great, the creature designs are so imaginative, and the story keeps hooking you in with more intrigue every time you learn something new… Honestly, this is one of the best webtoons I’ve ever read, and I want to see it get more recognition.
Behind Our Eclipse

In a world where Gods reign supreme, their descendants are capable of incredible things. Their actions have the potential to reshape the world; be it the Witches creating mayhem, or the Celestials fighting for justice. Loyalties wander like tidal waves, and war reaches the skies. Trust no one. Love no one. It may be your doom.
This amnesiac protagonist is walking a similar path as Lysandra in Light Within Shadow, which shows what a versatile premise that is! Behind Our Eclipse is fantastic, with gorgeous artwork and a compelling plot. In fact, it’s one of the most recommended webtoons on the Inkverse app! Definitely not one to miss.

God Has Spite

Larry's a grown man with grown up responsibilities: working a decent job, thinking about his many personal problems, and becoming a magical boy every night! With the voice of God as his best friend, Larry's tasked with using energy fragments to become strong enough to handle an interdimensional merge destined to doom humanity. The only problem is — there are other magical boys who want the energy fragments for themselves.
I love this one! A twist on the magical girl genre, God Has Spite instead puts boys in the spotlight, making for a fresh take and interesting subversion all at once. But if you’re thinking “Sailor Moon but boys”, you’d be wrong. It’s more Puella Magi Madoka Magica — and that voice of God certainly isn’t the holiest of holies…
Syrenics
Â
Once hunted for their powers, bestowed to their killers with a single touch, sirens attacked coastal towns and no-one has returned to the water since. So when Nyris finds a dying siren and inherits its devastating powers, she must learn how to control her newfound abilities before she harms herself, or her friends…
Another fave! Syrenics has such a compelling story, with a vibrant setting and intriguing backstory. The art is also stunning: the creator’s art style is uniquely beautiful and eerie all at once. Well paced and exciting, Syrenics is definitely one of the best action webtoons that I’ve read, and although it’s just starting out, there’s no doubt it will grow to be one of the best action webtoons of all time.
The Giant of Greywater

When Alaina left her hometown to investigate a spate of giant-related problems, she never expected that this giant pain in her ass might actually be someone she once cared about… Meeting new friends and foes along the way, Alaina must uproot the mysteries that plague this realm if she wants to save her family from their town, which has been overrun by monsters!
This dnd-inspired action webtoon is super fun, and it’s also a romance — albeit an incredibly slow burn one! Alaina is a powerful protagonist, defying the society that would sooner see her a wife than an adventurer. This comic is whip smart and sharply funny, exploring topics of identity and social expectations. It’s great fun!
